About Me

Hello, my name is Carlton!

I'm a Software Engineer at Amino, a healthcare transparency company on a mission to connect everyone to better, more affordable care. I'm responsible for designing and implementing backend software projects as part of a small, agile team. I'm currently migrating all of our infrastructure from Northern California to Oregon and in the process rewriting it in code using terraform. In my free time I work on vintage Honda motorcycles and hike the Bay Area's many parks and trails.

2015

Intern | Embedded Systems

GE Intelligent Platforms

I designed and developed a new web application to test embedded systems and single-board computers. I created a RESTful service to provide a common interface to all instruments and test equipment, unifying testing across several development teams.

2014

Intern | Product Support

InterSystems Corporation

Using InterSystem's new Zen Mojo framework I innovatively expanded an internal app for mobile and worldwide use. InterSystems facilities personnel across the U.S., Europe, and Australia later adopted this tool.

2014

Inspiration Ambassador

Boston University

I was part of an engineering outreach group that encouraged high school students to pursue educations in STEM. I mentored a FIRST robotics team and I developed a 1-hour module to teach students the basics of mobile app development using Android.

2012

Teaching Assistant

Boston University

Each semester I worked with over 200 students. I pioneered the College of Engineering's online coursework by developing self-grading MATLAB problems on the edX Edge and Cody Coursework platforms.
